This product is an all-vegetable digestive aid. It has a high concentration of pure vegetable enzymes.

These enzymes are biologically active and function throughout the whole digestive tract, due to the fact they are not dependent upon pH for activation. They are completely safe in all enzymatic digestive disturbances. Use vegyzyme where enzyme digestant supplementing body secretions are desired to aid digestion of proteins, fats, starch and fibrous materials. These enzymes have been derived form selected and approved cultures of Aspergillus oryzae, niger and papaya yeast. In addition to the above standardized enzymes, other naturally occurring enzymes such as Invertase, Maltase, Beta Amylase, Hemicellulose, Phosphatase, Peroxidase, Catalase, and Hydrolases, are present.

Vegyzyme is appropriate for use as a short and long term digestive aid. This is excellent for vegetarians who do not want to take animal proteolytic enzymes. Taken at the beginning of a meal, these enzymes will have about a 30 to 45 minute period in which to work. After that, the hydrochloric acid (HC1) in the stomach starts rising. However, Vegyzyme will continue working until the acid level gets prohibitive. If you want to take hydrochloric acid tablets also, take them at the end of a meal, so that the tablets will release after the enzymes are finished working.
