The 0.2% Zinc Pyrithione Secret
Pyrithione Zinc (ZnP) was first compounded in the l930's. Its primary function was as an anti-fungal.
Even today it is utilized in one of many shampoos to combat dandruff.It wasn't until approximately 10 years ago that a European nation developed a proprietary method of processing a 0.2% ZnP formula which involved time, temperature, and sequence. This proprietary method of manufacture was not utilized in the United States until late 1995. At that time an FDA registered laboratory became licensed to produce this proprietary zinc formula in the United States.
This new proprietary blend of 0.2% ZnP reduced the effects of many forms of dermatitis. However, it worked on some people, but not on others. It was not until l997 when NUTRIMED learned that when combined with a certain glucocorticosteroid that it produced dramatic healing effects on psoriatic lesions as well as various other forms of skin inflammations and fungi.
Since the glucocorticosteriod involved is a prescription product, NUTRIMED arranged with a compounding pharmacy to combine the most efficacious ratio of the steroid to the proprietary zinc formula.
