PATHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
The pathology here centers around either a predisposing cause of the excessive appetite such as hypoglycemia, which is very common; hyperthyroidism in which the pituitary gland is most certainly involved; malassimilation and poor absorption; hyperperistalsis; and, most commonly of all probably, emotional syndromes or the resulting degenerative changes that Occur as a result of obesity that often results from excessive eating.

PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Excessive eating most often results in obesity to some degree. However, this is not always the case, as in many cases of low blood sugar, malabsorption syndromes and other forms of faulty digestion, Excessive appetite resulting from emotional disturbances nearly always produces obesity.

TREATMENT:
Etiological factors must be handled separately in these cases, but the general approach is certainly through adequate Nutritional Therapy.
