PATHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
A condition exhibiting unusual intolerance to light or glare. Exaggerated when conjunctivitis, intraocular inflammation or excessive pressure is present.

PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:
This condition may or may not have clinical signification because many light-pigmented persons and blondes are prone to exhibit this weakness. Relief may be attained by wearing dark glasses in such cases. However, sensitivity to glare and light accompanies measles, rubella, meningitis, and other ocular disturbances such as glaucoma and trachoma.

TREATMENT:
Nutrition has a profound effect upon eyes and the entire visual apparatus. Sensitivity to light and glare, night blindness and rapid tiring of eyes is common when there is a deficiency of vitamin A in blood and tissues. Excessive lacrimation and severe sensitivity to light with pain in the eye and bloodshot Conjunctiva is often a part of vitamin B- complex deficiency, in particular vitamins B-2 and B-6 and pantothenic acid. Lack of magnesium is also associated with visual problems.
