PATHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:

The formation of yellowish-white, smooth, circumscribed, leathery spots or patches of hyperkeratinized mucosal cells in the mouth or on the tongue. Often precancerous and frequently associated with nutritional deficiencies or syphilis.

PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS:

There appears to be a predisposition for males and there may be gonadal deficiencies. By the time pain is noted, the lesions are usually far advanced.

TREATMENT:
