| PATHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS: |
| The term eczema is synonymous with chronic dermatitis and is characterized by a
superficial inflammation of the skin exhibiting erythema, oozing, crusting, scaling and often vesicular formation. The term constitutes at least half
of all clinical dermatological conditions. |
| PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS: |
| People with dry skin seem to be more susceptible to eczema but no age, sex, or class
is exempt. Two types of etiology are recognized: (1) constitutional or predisposing which are thought to be genetic and/or psychological; and
(2) exciting or external causes such as contact with chemicals or other irritants, allergic contact or reaction to microorganisms. |
| TREATMENT: |
| Deficiencies of any one or all of the B vitamins or essential fatty acids may produce
various types of eczemas and skin rashes in general in both humans and animals. Restoration of a natural diet with adequate amounts of vitamin
B and essential fatty acids as well as all the other elements of proper nutrition is absolutely necessary. Treatment with proper high potency natural
supplements of the right sort is mandatory. |
